Art Shows:
Montgomery Art Guild sponsors three art shows a year. The Regions Bank Art Exhibition and The Alabama National Fair Art Show are every year. Bi-annually the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts sponsors a Montgomery Art Guild Exhibition. Also, bi-annually the Nightingale Art Exhibition is shown at Auburn University at Montgomery. These art exhibitions are free to the public and most of the work is for sale. The art work that you see is usually quite strong and represents some of the most recognized artists of the region. Especially delightful are the refreshments, and again these shows and the openings are free. Please join us at these shows, as a member, or as a supporter of the visual arts.
Mission Statement:
To advance and promote the appreciation, enjoyment and distribution of the arts; for the mutual improvement, cultural benefit, and social enlightenment of members and of the public; to sponsor exhibitions of original art by any artists; to present art programs of high quality; to afford a means through which artists may continue their work and study; to encourage artists of all ages; and to foster appreciation and participation in the arts by the general public.
Membership:
Membership is $40 per person, per year. Membership includes a monthly newsletter and a discount on fees for certain art shows that the guild sponsors. Pay close attention to the newsletter and especially the prospectus, as they both explain how to enter the art exhibitions. The Montgomery Art Guild has presently over 200 members.
