ABOUT THE MONTGOMERY ART GUILD

The Montgomery Art Guild (MAG) is the longest standing, non-profit arts organization in the Montgomery Region. Began in the late 1950's and then incorporated in 1968, this all volunteer organization serves a mission to:

BRIEF HISTORY: The Montgomery Art Guild (MAG) was formed in the late 1950's by a group of about 35 local artists for the purpose of promoting and making the citizens of Montgomery, Alabama aware of the visual arts. Mae Belle Gay, art professor at Huntingdon College, was the first president of the Guild (1957–58). The Guild was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1968. It still thrives today as an integral part of the entire region.

Activities of the Guild include:

Our present membership is open to all who wish to join. That includes art lovers (you don't have to be an artist to join), Sunday painters, students of art, high school teachers, university professors, and established artists in the Southeast.
